Chapter 9&10

Chapter 9: Okay…

Oh my God! What was I thinking! I’m only eighteen, I can’t get married. Now I really wish I had my Mommy. It’s just, when I’m around him, I feel… strange. Like I can’t think for myself. Oh God! What if HE use his powers to make me say yes. Eeep……………!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I REALLY WANT MY MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chapter 10: Oh Man!

“Dude, I’m getting married!” Max told Jake.
“What are you talking about?”Jake asked.
“I asked her to marry me, and she said yes!”
“Dude, are sure SHE said yes or the WATER said yes?” Jake asked curious.
“Oh Man! I never thought about that!” Max said angy.
“Maybe you should go talk to her,” Jake suggested.
“Dude! I just proposed, I can’t go talk to her!” Max yelled, “How am I supposed fix this?”
“Dude, I don’t know, but you need to think of something pronto.”
“Why?”
“Because SHE only has three days left on this ship.”
"What! I need to sleep on this!”
“Okay, don’t fall off it though,” Jake snickered.
“Shut up!”

Chapter 8

Chapter 8: Again, I repeat, “What?”

I had another date with Max tonight. Maybe, just maybe, he would tell me what he is.

“So, are you going to tell me what you are?”
“Maybe, I’ll decide,” Max answered calmly.
“Really?”
“Yes,” Max answered, a smile in his voice.
“So, tell me,” I urged
“I’m…a…m..m..merperson. A legend of the deep. My friend, that you ran into the other day, he’s one too,” Max explained with a look of pain on his face.
“Oh.My.God!” I exclaimed with shock.
“I knew it would hurt you,” Max said his voice breaking in the end.
“No, I’m fine, just surprised. Wow, a merperson. How are you allowed above water?”
“The legends are fake. I really only have powers around water. The truth is, I don’t even know how to swim.”
“That adds an odd twist to the fairytale.”
"Yeah, it does. So, you’re not scared of me?”
“No, the truth is, I love you.”
“I love you too,” he said, and you could just hear the smile in his voice, ”Since that is true, McKayla, will you marry me?”
“Yes!” What else could I say? I was flabbergasted.

Chapter 7

Chapter 7: Getting Creepy

“Dude, I just ran into McKayla. You were right, she is fine!” Jake exclaimed to Max.
“Hey, watch it. It’s bad enough that I’m falling in love with her. I don’t need you causing her pain as well.”
“Dude, are you going to tell her? About us I mean. “
“No!” exclaimed Max furious.
“Don’t you think she should know?”
“Why?” Max practically growled.
“’Cause well, maybe because you’re in love with her.”
“I don’t want to scare her away. Of course if I did, then it will eliminate the chances of me hurting her.” Max whined.
“Well, if she loves you back, which you say she does, then she shouldn’t care,” Jake broke down the facts for Max sympathetically.
“She should care.”
“Why? If it’s true love, then why?”
“Because, I’m an abomination to this world. I shouldn’t exist. But, I do. I am a danger to human kind. I endanger the lives of people I’m around everyday.”
“But you’ve saved her life a couple of times,” Jake said wanting to bring out the positives instead of the negatives.
“So, I am not meant to help her, I am meant to destroy her.” Max choked out, tears forming up. Until, he finally broke down and cried.

Chapter 6

Chapter 6: What The???

Okay, things had gotten even weirder with Max. Now he was saving me from falling things above.
It has been two weeks since our date. Now I know what you’re thinking, does it even take that long to get from the states to Europe? Yes; yes it does; when you’re taking the scenic route.
But, anyway, back to Max. I still have no idea what’s wrong with him. Or maybe I’ve just been out of information for the past eighteen years. Because I never got the memo that said guys were genetically altered freaks that can do the impossible. Well, technically it is possible in this case, since Max is able to do it.

“Ouch! Not again!” But yes, it happened again, I ran into some complete stranger! “Oh, I’m so sorry. I’d like to say this doesn’t happen a lot but sadly, it does.”
“So you run into complete strangers on a daily basis?”
“N…No, not daily. More like, w..w…weekly basis. Actually every other week.”
“Oh, so I guess I’m not that lucky, then,” the person I ran into said.
“I just ran into you, how would that be lucky?”
“Well, a pretty girl like you, running into an average guy like me. I’d call that luck.”
Awe, he thinks I’m pretty, how sweet. Oh gosh, I hope I didn’t blush. ‘Cause the truth is, he’s not all that average looking. He’s rather kind of sexy.”Well, sorry again. I will try to keep my head up from now on.”
“Good thing, or else all the guys you bump into will take it as something else, if you catch my drift?”
“Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Bye.”
“Have a good day miss.”
Okay, can you say weird? That was totally strange. Of course not nearly as strange as Max’s powers. I’ve been trying to get it out of him ever since that night, but NO! That’s all he says! I mean come on, I SHOULD know. Shouldn’t I? I mean, I THINK I’m his girlfriend. Maybe he doesn’t think so. Oh my God. What if I’m just a friend? I WANT MY MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!!

Love at Sea Changes!!!

Okay, I changed the name to "The Tall Tale Truth of the Water"

Chapter 5(part 1, maybe) The Tall Tale Truth of the Water

Chapter 5: The First Date

“Hey, do you, um… maybe, want to have dinner with me?” Max asked looking as nervous as I felt.
“Sure,” I said glad my voice was even and hoping he could hear the smile in my voice.
“Cool, I guess I’ll pick you up at seven?”
“Okay,” I said thinking this through, and then it finally occurred to me, he didn’t know my room number. By the time I turned around to tell him, he was already on the other side of the deck.
“What?” I asked myself aloud entirely confused. We just walked off. How could he already be over there? It had to be at least one-hundred feet, at least.

Well, it’s seven; I guess I’ll wait a few seconds. Then I’ll put on my shoes and go find Max. Then, I heard a knock, “no, it couldn’t be,” I thought. However, there his voice was…
“Hurry up and put on your shoes or we’ll be late.”
“Oh. My. God.” I thought, “How did he know I don’t have shoes on?” however, his voice interrupted my thoughts again.
“Did you hear me?”
“ Yeah, one sec.”
“Okay,” he answered as calm as possible, like nothing was wrong.

“Wow, this place is beautiful,” I told him. He had taken me, not to the restaurant, but to the deck, and we were under the stars drinking champagne and eating spaghetti. It was the most romantic dinner I had ever had.
“Glad you like it.”
“Oh, hey, I have a question,” I told him getting a nervous ache in the pit of my stomach.
“Anything,” he gave me an amazing crooked smile.
“Um… well, how did you know my room number?” he took a few seconds to answer, that was definitely going on my list.
“Front office. I went and asked what room number you were staying in.” oh, I guess I never thought of that.
“Okay, one more,” I told him, knowing this time there was no possible answer.
“Ask away.”
“How did you know I wasn’t wearing shoes?”
“Uh… well, I assumed you would wear high-heels and I didn’t hear the clack.” Okay, logical answer since I was wearing high-heels. Wait! My room has carpet. Unless he has super hearing, he couldn’t have possibly heard that I didn’t have shoes on.
“But my room has carpet. It’s nearly impossible to hear shoes on it.” I retorted; he wasn’t getting off that easily
“Well, are you going to tell me how you knew; or am I going to have to beg until you do?!”
“Wow, feisty!”
“So… are you going to tell me?”
“No,” Max said calmly.

Chapter 4 of Love at Sea

Okay here is chapter 4, I'm not sure if it's complete or not, but idk, hope you enjoy.

Chapter 4: The Learning

“Hey, McKayla, do you, maybe, want to, umm… take a walk,” Max asked in a nervous tone.
“Of course,” I answered, not really wanting to tell him I had already walked around this whole ship.
“So, why are you going to Europe?” he asked.
“I’m visiting my uncle before I go off to college.”
“That’s sweet.”
“What about you?”
“Oh, I’m taking a year off before heading off to college. Maybe do some backpacking in Prague. Swimming in Venice, running for office in London, Of course that is if the cops in Venice don’t arrest me first,” he told me with a hint of sarcasm in the end.
“That sounds… exhilarating,” I replied not knowing how to describe the wonderfulness of that adventure.
“Yeah, my older brother went straight to Harvard, and he died.”
“Oh gosh! How? I’m sorry, that was rude, just, sounds strange.”
“Yeah, it’s okay. Everyone reacts that way. He died of stress overload. He worked way hard in high school, then never got to take a break before going to the toughest school in America,” Max explained in the calmest tone.
“Wow!”
“Yeah, so, what college are you going to?”
“The University of Australia.”
“Wow, out of country, that must cost a lode.”
“Full ride in soccer.”
“Oh, you’re a jock.”
“Yeah, not a big one. Just good at a sport that I love.”
“Cool,” he seemed really interested.
