Chapter 1: The Parting
“Be careful sweetheart.”
“I will. It’s not like it’s the Titanic.”
“What if it is?”
“Mom, I. Am. Not. Rose.” I pronounced every word slowly and with perfect articulation so my mother would understand.
“You never know.”
“Hmm… okay mother you win! But it’s not going to happen.”
“Think what you want. Oh, and if you to meet happen Jack let me know, he was my favorite.”
“Okay mother.”
“ALL ABOARD!” the conductor warned.
“Mom, I have to go, I love you.”
“I love you too. Say hi to Aaron for me.”
“Will do,” I re-assured her.
That was it; I was on my way to Italy to visit my uncle. I had not seen him since I was two. Ever since the divorce, he stopped coming for Christmas.
Now I was leaving my scatter-brained mother to see him before I go off to college. I feel guilty for leaving my mom, but she has Phoebe now. My aunt came to help since I was going away to college in a few weeks…thump!
“Oh, I am so sorry.”
“No problem,” the person I just bumped into answered.
“Um… I guess… I’ll see you later.”
“Definitely," he assured me.
Who ever that person was, he was gorgeous. Beyond gorgeous actually, more like handsome. I cannot wait until I run in to him again. Figuratively speaking, not literally like what just happened. I wonder what his name is. I bet it is something cute like Max or something.
Chapter 2: The Acquaintance
“Man, I cannot stop thinking about that girl,” Max explained to Jake.
“Dude, get over it, all she did was run into you,” Jake retorted.
Max knew Jake wasn’t trying to be mean, it’s just he’s tired of hearing about his mystery girl.
“Dude, I’m sorry. It’s just, I don’t know. There was a connection when our eyes met. ‘Love at first sight’, I thought that was so cheesy, I guess not.”
